 20-3-2004 - Placing a U and a K in the FCC - FuCCk YOU!!!

8:25 AM GMT

I've been waiting until the time was right to talk about this fucking censorship thing going on in America. I watch in amazement as time moves backwards, passes George Carlin and sits in Lenny Bruce's lap. The push for anal-correctness, its roots up the ass of the rabidly right-winged Christian coalition and Bush's "posse" are like evil tentacles out of control. Most people wag at the neocons, but in my opinion, it's the Bible thumpers who trumpet the way as George pumps the pom-poms against what he deems indecent.

The time is right now, and it was good I waited or I wouldn't have what I found today about the FuCCk and the word "fuck".

"For broadcasters seeking more guidance on what is indecent, federal regulators have some warning: Don't use the F-word.

The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday overruled its staff and declared that an expletive uttered by rock star Bono on NBC last year was both indecent and profane. The agency made it clear that virtually any use of the F-word was inappropriate for over-the-air radio and television.

"The 'F-word' is one of the most vulgar, graphic and explicit descriptions of sexual activity in the English language," the commission said Thursday. "The fact that the use of this word may have been unintentional is irrelevant; it still has the same effect of exposing children to indecent language."

JeezusFuckingXmas, they're fucking serious. Do they even know how this word came into being and how long ago it was? According to StrangeCosmos:

"Deriving the etymology of this word is difficult, as it has been under a taboo for most of its existence and citations are rare. The earliest known use, according to American Heritage and Lighter, predates 1500 and is from a poem written in a mix of Latin and English and entitled 'Flen flyys.' The relevant line reads:

"Non sunt in celi quia fuccant uuiuys of heli." Translated: "They [the monks] are not in heaven because they fuck the wives of Ely [a town near Cambridge]." The word was not in common (published) use prior to the 1960s.

I believe the Beats were the ones to put it into the language of the underground and it's usage has become mainstream today. It's word that kids use, that I use, hell, show me someone who doesn't at least think it, I'll fuck these words. Brenda! Ahem.

Hmm, Wikipedia reports differently and fuck, if you have any interest in this word, go to that site. It's a fucking trip!

This is a must see! A flash video called "Fuck". Hahaha, it's brilliant and no wonder, the credits at the end read "Audio - Monty Python".

This is particularly funny right now because I just read the most outrageous review of a hardcore show in Ventura Thursday night. I had to read it to my hub it was so fucking crazy. I think this kid set the record for the use of the word "fucking" in any show review. Thanks, Beavis, you sure cracked me up.

"show last night was fucking great 7 bands on 5 not 6 but 7. down to nothing played first. a bunch of people where still outside but it was still a fucking good set. i think they said something about being from virgina for the first band opening they were fucking bad they covered minot threat. then worn thin played they were from washington D.C. another fucking good band i never heard them before and i was fucking stoked. it was another good fucking set. shotgun wedding got a good reaction they had kids dancing. that band is fucking weird. their deffinetly a good band to watch live. final fight played after that. they were also fucking great. they covered gorilla biscuits biscuit power and then strife at the end of their set. 6 bullets was fucking the best band of the night i liked them a fucking lot. they where pretty heavy with 2 singers. they reanged from a semi high pitched vocal to a deep as hell vocal. with heavy mosh parts to fucking gnarly blast beats. to just plain having fun. they were also on tour and thought no one would dance. but we showed them whats up. i fucking love that band. they brought something different. Make move from LA was fucking badass as well/ 1st time i ever saw them and I was fucking blown away. pretty fucking heavy hardcore. we had circle pits going all night. vendetta holy shit, you already know what happened. they still get better by every show. mad kids where singing along. the best circle pits went down during their set. their was at least 25 kids going around in the pit. and the floor got cleared anytime a breakdown came. fuck dude to watching kid get knocked out (that sucked for dustin) and almost being knocked out it was a fucking blast. fucking great night 1st band to last it was fucking awesome it wasnt boring and it was seriously the best show since ojai got shut down. we need to start seeing more shows like this."

HOWARD'S TURN

What gets me about this new FuCCk ruling, is that they're reaching back into the past like with Howard Stern, who is so pissed, his mission in life now is to take down Bush after getting fired from some stations after taking on Bush's stance on gay marriage and the intrusion of religion in government policy. He's got a whole movement going on. There was a "Stand Up for Stern Rally" yesterday. MTV talked about it, and this part needs to be read:

"A woman named Socorro picketed on a high-traffic corner while her two daughters looked on from their stroller.

"I'm here with my kids because I want them to know we were out here trying, that we did our part to protest," she said. "I don't think it's going to stop with Howard Stern. He's just a stepping-stone. Next thing you know, we're going to have to listen to what they consider right. They're nobody to tell me who I can and can't listen to.""

Whoa, the FuCCk came down hard on Stern, fining him $27.500.00!

"Late yesterday, the Federal Communications Commission issued a fine (Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture) against Infinity Broadcasting for apparently willfully broadcasting indecent material in connection with “The Howard Stern Show” on WKRK-FM, Detroit, Michigan."

Yesterday was a black day, indeed. I don't think most people are ready for another Donna Reed world. Bush has vowed to sign U.S. Rep. Fred Upton, R-St. Joseph's Indecency Bill, just passed in the House, if it gets through the Senate. Stern vows he'll quit if that happens. Fuccccccccck!

Slashdot went fucking nuts over this. Click here.

"This is really, really, fucking brilliant."
